update

Let's see...

1. I opened a shop on etsy. Now you can buy my crafty goods, play with my nipples, and purchase funny things I picked up in Korea. Check it out. I'll do custom stuff too.

2. I'm in Canada. It's so cold, it's oppressive. It's just wrong.

3. I'm working on a lot of good ideas. I haven't ever been so active creatively and motivated to seek out opportunities to show my work. I feel spectacular about this.

4. I'm starting a new (snail/real) mail-based project. Email me if you are interested in participating and I'll send you details.

5. I slacked towards the end of thing-a-day. I couldn't keep up with posting. I made a thing or two a day, but I got lazy with the documentation. Disappointing.

Yay! You're in Canada! I still read your blog now and then and loved your Korea entries. You posted a "Can't touch this" video from youtube and I think we exchanged emails on it.

I hope you enjoy your stay!

Best,
Andrew

p.s. Are you in toronto?

Hi,

You're probably with a friend who knows the city well, if not, based on your blog and interests, here are my tips, in no particular order:

-Kensington Market
-Koreatown (you might find the smallness of it depressing, but the food is good-there's one place, I can't remember the name, that serves traditional tofu hotpot in stone bowls)
-Bata shoe museum (you might get a kick out of this place-bizarre, but interesting)
-Harbourfront (some good dance companies usually come through)
-Queen St. West starting at City Hall
-Design Exchange (museum on Canadian design)
-Niagara Falls (yeah, touristy, but more impressive in winter, the ice formations can be impressive)
-CN Tower (really touristy, BUT, if you make a reservation in their restaurant at the top you get to go up without charge-meals there not too expensive, and it's pretty impressive at night)
-High Park (nice place to walk, right by Bloor Street West)

I'm not into the club or music scene so I can't help you there.
Pick up one of the free cultural papers like Eye Weekly.

If you need any other suggestions write to me at a_han@hotmail.com

The world is small. Welcome to Toronto!:)

Andrew, you're awesome!
Great suggestions. I went to the shoe museum today and LOVED it. Totally up my alley. I've been to Niagra. It is touristy, but I still kinda got a kick out of the colored lights at night and I was impressed by how freaking loud it is. I hope to check out a couple more of your tips before I head out. Thanks again!

Hi MC (Miss Coco), (I tried to post this before so here goes, even though I emailed this)

I'm glad you found the Bata museum-I figured you'd like it, lol.

I could only think of one more place: Pacific Mall, the largest indoor Asian shopping mall in North America. There's probably all sorts of quirky, hip stuff there as they apparently get all the 'hot' stuff from Hong Kong. Pacific Mall is a bit away from downtown, but not hard to find.

Hmm, final thoughts/places to see:
the Boardwalk on the Beaches, maybe? Gardiner Museum of Ceramic art (near Bata shoe museum)? Yeah, the usual ROM (Royal Ont. Museum) and AGO (Art Gallery Ontario) but if I'm not mistaken I think you're from Philly and in comparison our museums here kind of suck.

Casa Loma, The Power Plant (a museum near Harbourfront).

I'm glad I was of service. Remember me if and when I purchase your products-I'd love a discount. :)
